“Ryan, I just wanted to tell you how wonderful it is to have Bridey around since she stayed with you for her Off-Leash Dog Training training. We are amazed at how well she is behaving. Her personality has not changed, as she is still playful and full of energy. It is now so much easier to get her to behave appropriately. I haven’t said “no” or shouted at her once and best of all she no longer climbs up on the back of the settee barking like a mad dog! Thanks for all your patience and help”.

Issues:

  1. Bolt out of door
  2. Wouldn’t come
  3. Aggressive with other dogs

“My husband was certain that no one, including Ryan, would be able to teach Cinder even rudimentary obedience. We’ve spent 5 years being frustrated and on pins and needles about her running away and not coming when called. After 2 and a half lessons, Cinder no longer tries to ‘escape’, she can now play off leash in parks with very little concern on my part that she won’t come when called. In short, we could not be happier with Off-Leash Dog Training, and in particular with Ryan Matthews. Anyone who wishes a ‘live’ reference can call me or email me. I would love to tell you more”!

“Before Off-Leash Dog Training our dog was out of control. We could not stop the jumping, running away, and general lack of obedience. After the first lesson with Ryan our dog learned a lot and has improved leaps and bounds. We now take our dog off leash on trails, camping, and the park”.

Issues:

  1. Aggressive with owner

Breed: Bull Terrier”Prior to meeting with Ryan from Off-Leash Dog Training I was extremely desperate to find a trainer who could give me the proper tools and knowledge to deal with my dog’s unique personality. My dog was extremely stubborn, overconfident, aggressive, bossy, destructive, and very dominant. I just wanted him to be my best friend, but his aggressiveness towards objects and people were worrisome and kept him from being the best dog he could be. After Ryan came in and showed me how to handle my dog, I was amazed at the progress that he made in just one session. He now has the life that I have always wanted him to have, and best of all he is now able to be in groups of dogs with no aggressive behavior. Ryan simply gave him a second chance at being a wonderful companion, friend, and pet. Since our training began my dog has achieved many accomplishments, especially in the show ring. After only two dog shows, he has titles of Winners Dog, 1st Place, and Reserved Dog. I am proud to say that my dog is now my best friend because of the training that he has received from Ryan Matthews”.

“If you want a very happy and well trained dog this program is the way to go. I have tried other programs that just didn’t work for Tinker. If you don’t want to spend a lot of time yelling at your pet give Ryan a try. Work with him and you and your pet will be happier”.

Ryan,

We are grateful for all you have done to help Ziva and Radar become happy obedient members of our family. Each was a rescue dog with emotional issues. Radar is now 9 years old, and Ziva is now almost 2. You showed us that old dogs CAN learn new tricks, and old habits and fears can be conquered.

Ziva was so skittish when we first got her that she would not even go outside of the house unless I carried her out. It took weeks just to get her beyond the driveway so we could take a walk in the neighborhood. Our first walks were only as far as across the street, or around the cul-de-sac. Every noise, every car passing, every person nearby freaked her out. Even after months of our trying to socialize her, at a year old she was VERY scared of strangers to the point of hiding when people came over.

Radar was not as shy, but he was willful and he was fearful of men. He would not come on command and the only time he would sit on command was when he was offered a treat as a reward.

In no time at all, with your guidance, our stubborn Radar was obeying on command and Ziva started coming out of her shell to the point now, that she is actually a flirt at group class and goes to greet all the people and dogs. Now, when friends come over Ziva is still shy, but she comes and greets them. She no longer hides.

We just had the New West Festival in Fort Collins with thousands of people and dogs meandering in the streets of Old Town. I took them both to the festival. After a few initial nervous moments at all the noise and confusion, Ziva calmed down and blossomed into a confident dog enjoying the outing and all the attention. Radar kept looking for the shade whenever we paused.

They are both happier now and we are happier with them. We no longer have to make excuses for their behavior. Now our guests get to see the fun side of our dogs and understand why we adore them so. Ziva is even smiling (it is SO funny) at non family members. Other dog owners comment on how well behaved our pets are and ask how we did it. We bask in their praise and guide them to you.

Thank you for teaching us how to bring out the best in our dogs.
